Avast immediately warns the users when they install an application about harmful behaviors, giving the users the chance to take action and get rid of bothersome ads. The users can configure Avast to issue such warnings based on their personal preferences.

Another feature is the “On demand scanning”. It’s a preventive feature that serves to get rid of bad or infected files from an Android smartphone. The users can set the application to scan the phone as they sleep.

The “Backup app” of Avast allows users to back up their contents, call logs, image files and SMS. With the premium version of this feature, users can also back up and protect videos and audio files. If the smartphone gets stolen, the user can restore all personal material in Google Drive Free storage.

And, with Avast App Manager, the users can see the applications that are running, monitor their permissions and check if they show ads. In march 2012, CNTE-Download.com gave this Android security program the “Editors’ Choice Award”. That same year, Independent testing AV-comparatives gave their highest rating (Advanced +) to Avast in the “On Demand Detection Test” category.
